After many delays we are FINALLY able to release this. The resolution on the 1080p one is a little weird but that’s because of the massive amount of cropping I had to apply to the blu-ray. Audio is 5.1ch FLAC on both releases, if you don’t like then don’t download. Special thanks to umee for their typesetting work, fabulous job!

We ordered the BD a week before it came out. It shipped on the 9th in Japan. It arrived at Person A’s place in Japan on the 12th. He ripped the disc, but wasn’t able to transfer it to his server at work until 2 days later because he was busy (14th in Japan). That was last night, American time. We transferred it to our encoding server overnight and our encoder started the encode as soon as he woke up.

There were no intentional delays and we were not sitting there doing nothing. Shut the fuck up, yo.

PS: We have no intention of releasing the BDISO at this point in time.

Someone asked if we are doing this and the answer is yes. It comes out August 10th and we have it pre-ordered. Unlike the Moyashimon Blu-ray box this DOES have english subs, so please feel free to purchase it for yourself if you enjoy it, the link is here.

As you may or may not already know, Moyashimon is getting a Blu-ray Box Set released and as you can imagine we are very excited about this news. Even though the cost to import Japanese anime is quite substantial, I plan on buying and then releasing HD quality versions of the 11 episodes and the 4 specials when the Blu-ray is released in October. While there is no indication that English subs will be included, some of you may wish to buy this instead of downloading our releases. You can pre-order the Blu-ray from here.

It’s been a while since the last episode and I don’t really have anything to say about the content as I haven’t watched it yet myself. I haven’t read about when episode 4 will be released, maybe someone can comment if they know any details. As always if you enjoy watching these you really should go and purchase a copy of the Blu-ray for better quality then a re-encode can provide. You can find it here or here.
Future subbing plans include the rest of Unicorn, the next Nanoha movie which is supposed to be out sometime next year, and season 3 of Natsume Yuujinchou if Crunchyroll doesn’t snatch that one up.

A good number of people have been asking about Unicorn 3 and it has been getting pretty annoying so I figured I would make a post.

1) Yes, I will be encoding and releasing Unicorn 3.
2) No, It is not out on Blu-ray yet.

The Blu-ray is relased on April 7th, so please have a little patience.

It’s been nearly 3 years since this was released on dvd volume 4 and over a year since we released specials 2 and 3 so I’m really glad I can finally release this. Big thanks to Kokizzzle for the translation. Let’s hope we’ll see a continuation of the anime sometime in the future.

Well after a long wait we finally have this movie in decent quality!
We decided to stick with our camrip subs as the default track after catching quite a few errors in the official translation. The official subs are included for those interested for whatever reason as track 4 in both mkvs. The size is quite large but you need to realize that this movie is 2 hours and 10 minutes long and has quite a few action scenes and I for one prefer having more then needed where visual quality is concerned. Both files play perfectly on my PS3 after running through mkv2vob so there is that option for playback as well if your computer can’t quite keep up (and you have a ps3, obviously). Movie 2 is scheduled for theaters in 2012, so who knows when that will be out on Blu-ray. Rest assured however, that we will be sure to sub it for you if we are still around then (big if).

Here is a patch that adds French and Spanish subtitles from the Blu-ray styled and time shifted for you foreigners. English speakers can ignore this, unless they want to practice on their French or Spanish for some reason. Just drag and drop your file onto Patch.bat and you should be good to go after a short wait.

Edit 2:
Some people having been having problems with outdated players, so I’ve updated the above patch to hopefully fix this problem. Just stick your file in the same folder as the patch and run the batch file. For you linux people you’ll need to open up your favorite terminal and run xdelta manually and if you don’t have xdelta, compile from source.

It’s been a long wait but it’s finally here! I’ve not had a chance to watch it yet so I have no comments on the story but I’m sure it will be as good as the first episode was. Episode 03 has a release date of March 18th, 2011 so it won’t be that long of a wait until we’ll have some more. As always, if you enjoyed this I strongly suggest purchasing it in support of the creators.

Update (08/11/10):
Good news. I received the Blu-ray for Unicorn 2 a few days early so expect a release tomorrow!

So there have been some questions lately about a number of things so I figured I would post an update about what’s going on.

— Yes we are still planning on releasing Unicorn episode 2 in HD resolution when released on
November 12th.
— Yes we are still planning on releasing the Nanoha movie in HD resolution when released on
November 26th.

This time around I can actually pay for both of those myself so donations aren’t needed.

You may have noticed we never got past the first few episodes of Darker than Black S2 Blu-ray releases, and that is because the encoder working on those vanished from IRC. While CoalGirls has completed 1080p and 720p encodes, the files are bloated (bitrate and FLAC) and the people behind the scenes are a bunch of idiots so I’ll probably eventually go ahead and redo all of the show from the beginning similar to how I did season 1 (CEB).

Tokyo M8 Blu-ray encodes aren’t being continued simply because no one in Japan has uploaded all the volumes.

As for the live tv streaming, I don’t see it coming back at all. Good capping equipment and a computer powerful enough to encode streams to any sort of decent quality is expensive and I can’t pay for it. What was previously used has become unavailable and sadly won’t be coming back.

If someone here happens to live in Japan and wants to upload the BDISO with their amazing internet connection day1, bug mreweilk on Rizon IRC!

In other news, we’re still dead until we bribe a group to let us ‘joint’ with them next season.

First – the Nanoha the MOVIE 1st BD & DVD are coming out on November 26th. Expect a BD release sometime thereafter.

Second – A little side project:

There was a Chinese patch for the Nanoha PSP game released and the team that did it were courteous enough to give us all their tools/source code/documents to use to make an English translation.

While we have no actual translator for this, I have translations for Nanoha & Fate’s routes courtesy of Password on the AnimeSuki forums. Someone is potentially doing a third route (he hasn’t decided which one). If anyone wants to translate any of this stuff, PM me on Rizon (aers) and I’ll give you the script. If no one wants to do any more I’ll just release a partial patch.

Well here is the last episode of the 4 part ova. Maybe we’ll see a third season, maybe not. Either way this will be the last thing that BSS releases for a while, though you can expect encodes of Gundam Unicorn 2 when it releases in October and then after that HD encodes of the Nanoha movie whenever it is released on Blu-ray. As for Blu-ray encodes of DTB Gemini you might see those from CEB sometime in the future, but don’t keep your hopes up.
